Pal Group of Institutions
The Pal Families of Haldwani have leading contribution to development in the Kumaun region of Uttarakhand since last three decades. Ever since they took over to be the top business group in this region, the head of the families, Late Sri Ramesh Pal, recognizing the most fundamental health-needs of people of this region, decided to take up the lead to establish Healthcare Facilities and Services.
With this prime goal the Pal Clinic was initiated at Haldwani, Uttarakhand in 2007, which had grown to public demand and consequently in 2009 Brij Lal Hospital & Research Centre (BLHRC) took its full form to be established as a Multi-speciality Hospital. Over a span of 16 years till today BLHRC serves on average 19 to 20 thousand patients per year, from all the districts of Kumaun Hills and some places of Garhwal region as well. The hospital extends its services to a few Satellite Centres in this region, where people do not have easy access to the main hospital at Haldwani. BLHRC is the only hospital in Uttarakhand State with facilities for complex Trauma Surgery and Care. People from far away South Asian & South-East Asian countries approach this hospital for these specialized services.
In the course of time the most urgent felt need was that of professional healthcare personnel in this region. Also, the youth of the Kumaun districts needed gainful employment. This fundamental developmental need in healthcare and healthcare profession led to the formation of Pal College of Nursing & Medical Sciences (PCNMS) in 2011, as a Unit of BLHRC. Presently PCNMS, a premier institution in Uttarakhand, is managing SIX (6) Academic Programs in Undergraduate & Postgraduate Nursing, substantially contributing to the healthcare services of the people. To enhance quality management of the institution, PCNMS was brought under Brijlal Memorial Charitable Samiti in 2016.
From then on the Samiti has established a range of healthcare professional institutions such as, Kaya Ayurvedic Hospital in 2021; Pal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2022; Kaya Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital in 2023 and Pal College of Paramedical Sciences in the year 2024. Currently about 1000 students are studying in various courses of Pal Group of Institutions (PGI).
In all the four institutions PGI is playing a key role in the field of healthcare professional education, research and services in the Kumaun region.
Establishing an educational institution on Legal Studies is an initiative arising out of another urgent felt need of the Kumaoun region. On this intent Pal College of Law has been instituted in the year of 2026, including BBA-LLB; BA-LLB and LLB courses.
Situated amidst the lush green hillocks and a flowing river, the serene environment of the campus is an ideal ‘Centre of Learning’, dedicated to education. Focus on students’ personality and intellectual growth is inbuilt in its very system.
